Parent Partnership Field Trip Fun!
The Parent Partnership classes have recently participated in several field trips. The grade 1-6 classes went to John Janzen Nature Centre for a science field trip. Grades 1, 3, and 4 learned about the needs of animals and how they adapt to life in the city. Grades 2, 5, and 6 discussed life cycles and wetland ecosystems while searching for and identifying pond invertebrates.
Next, the sun was shining as all classes traveled back in time to Fort Edmonton. Students engaged in a guided program where they worked together to raise a mîkiwahp in the traditional nêhiyawak (Cree) style and also had time to explore the new Indigenous Peoples Experience pavilion and the rest of the Fort.
The junior high class is looking forward to their upcoming Elk Island National Park trip where they will be guided along one of the fantastic trails while learning about the habitats, plants, animals, and cultural history of the park.
