CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM AT CFL!

At CFL, we value citizenship and community. To help our students learn and understand the importance of being a good citizen, each month we will be focusing on different causes in our community that our students are passionate about. With the help of our student leadership group, we have identified some causes that they would like to support including neglected/abandoned animals in our community, The Parkland Food Bank, FCC Winter Wear program, and isolated or lonely seniors.

As the weather turns colder the need for warm winter wear is essential, especially for children and youth. Our school collects items to have available for My PATH students during Outdoor Education or Nature days. Additionally, the Family Connection Centre in Stony Plain does an annual campaign for winter wear donations. If you have sorted through last year’s gear and discovered that your kids have outgrown some items, please consider donating them.

Starting on November 1, we will have a donation bin in the CFL main office to drop your donations. Acceptable items include gently worn boots, jackets, snow pants, gloves/mitts, toques and scarves. We accept both adult and youth sized apparel.

If you have any questions about the CFL Citizenship program, or have suggestions on other ways we can help our community, please contact Natasha Maloney at natasha.maloney@psd.ca or 780-963-0507.
